Sometimes there are things all around us that indicate that the world is on a collision course with destiny. The tempting of fate seems to be a great sport with those who control us. They are able to make laws, take away rights and dictate to us what is sacred and what is profane. In the end however what wins is nature. Nature is neither good nor evil – but it carries out justice.

There are countless calamities that could befall us and bring humanity or, at the very least, modern civilization to its knees. We know it’s happened before. Our remarkable lack of genetic diversity suggests Homo sapiens have already clung to the precipice of extinction at least once in our distant past, when our numbers dwindled to perhaps as few as 1,000 breeding pairs.

The Schumann resonance is Earth’s Rising Base Frequency or, if you will, Earth’s background base frequency or “heartbeat” and – believe it or not – it is rising dramatically. Though it varies among geographical regions, for decades the overall measurement was 7.8 cycles per second. This was once thought to be a constant; global military communications developed on this frequency. Recent reports set the rate now at over 11 cycles, and climbing. Science doesn’t know why, or what to make of it.

While earth’s “pulse” rate is rising, her magnetic field strength is declining. According to a study from the University of New Mexico, the field has lost up to half its intensity in the last 4,000 years. This decline can cause all kinds of changes in the natural order of things. Plants and animals will show the effects first and then man will begin to become unstable. The effects from such a magnetic shifts have been recorded thousands of years ago. Reports of earthquakes, floods, volcanic activity and plasma from space have been recorded.

These are all things that we were thinking about in 2012 because of prophetic doomsayers and others who believed that all things like the return of planet X, a magnetic shift, even the rapture could have been predicted like a weatherman forecasts a storm.

Anymore giving an exact date for anything nebulous or paranormal is almost a guarantee that it will not happen. This becomes a universal constant and is a popular opportunity for skeptics and debunkers to point out the foolishness of the paranoid.

However after throwing out exact dates for such apocalyptic endings we can look around us and analyze the environment and if we take the time to look, we may find that something that we have taken for granted no longer around. Perhaps we notice that the crickets don’t chirp anymore, or that we have watched birds fall from the sky hitting the earth with such force that they explode from the inside out.

Maybe we hear that others have seen fish wash up on the beaches. This may be written off as normal but when villagers say that the fish were hot to the touch, the situation becomes a Fortean event. One that is mysterious and somewhat compelling.
