MLK Was A Gun Carrying Republican

Some folk find it astonishing that the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr., was a Republican and a gun carrier. Back in the day, before the Republicans joined at the hip to right wing extremists, the Republican Party, AKA, the "Party of Lincoln" was the preferred party for African Americans. Loyalty to the deified, slave-freeing Lincoln kept blacks glued to the Republican party. At the time,you'd find Democrat Klan terrorists in local sherrif and police departments--and on the judcial bench, as well.
