Stephen Hawking, who turns 71 today, has joined the board of an international think tank devoted to defending humanity from futuristic threats. The Cambridge Project for Existential Risk is a newly founded organization which researches existential threats to humanity such as extreme climate change, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, artificial life, nanotech, and other emerging technologies. Skype cofounder Jaan Tallinn and Cambridge professors Huw Price and Martin Rees founded the project in late 2012.

I don't really like Hawking but it was interesting article.

my step "dad" saw nano bots with orange legs and black bodies eat his neighbor's house....but he is in the hospital for various reasons...blood infection might be one , but they are also testing him for a blood clot in the brain. he is seriously fucked up right now. it all started with radiation burns on his arms from MRI scans...or rather thermo electrical burns...i dont wanna post all details, but i can get pics up later. pray for him if you want, but i dont really care. his name is Michael.

right. what i mean to say, is i'm glad this team of super powers of thought has come together to defend us. house eating nanobots scare the shit out of me. regular termites are hard enough to get rid of.
