| One in three Americans want Christianity to be the official religion of the United States, according to a recently released poll. The new poll, released on April 5 by HuffPost Live, shows that a third of Americans would like to establish Christianity as their official state religion, and about the same percentage of people would support a constitutional amendment to make Christianity the official religion of the United States. The poll reports that it is mainly Republicans supporting the establishment of Christianity as the official religion of the United States. The poll also reports that 25 percent of those Americans under 30 support the idea of Christianity being the official religion, while 40 percent of Americans over 65 support Christianity as being named the official religion of the United States. http://www.examiner.com/article/one-three-americans-want-christianity-as-official-state-religion?cid=rss | |
