Ben Affleck produced, directed and starred in the Academy Award winning “Argo” about the 1979 Iran hostage crisis. But is he secretly a covert government agent that could be hanged for war crimes?
Iran’s state-run media outlet Press TV ran a story by 9/11 truther Kevin Barrett on Wednesday suggesting just that, BuzzFeed first reported.
The country is filing a lawsuit against Hollywood filmmakers who have promulgated “anti-Iran” propaganda, including 2012′s “Argo” and going all the way back to 1991′s “Not Without My Daughter.”
“I will defend Iran against the films like ‘Argo,’ which are produced in Hollywood to distort the country’s image,” said lawyer and controversial lightning rod Isabelle Coutant-Peyre.
Press TV published a post by Barrett suggesting that Affleck not only contributed to “Iranophobia,” but that he is also a covert government agent posing as an actor, just like his character in “Argo.”
