Yesterday I heard a very weird thing. It was a well known talk show host known for being a pro American being ashamed of the United States. I couldn’t believe I was hearing such discouragement form a man who is known for being overtly right wing, pro American and really in control of what he says and does. Even though I do not consider myself conservative or liberal I saw it as a breaking point.
It was also interesting that one of his competitors was also on the air and he also said that he felt as though he has been investing a lot of his time into getting the word out only to be told that many people do not support him because of maybe one or two things he said about a candidate for president that is often maligned in the mainstream media.
I found myself actually empathizing with them, because in this time of psychological warfare we as talk show hosts struggle to present information that the mainstream media doesn’t dare show. It is interesting to watch how people will tell you that they hate the mainstream media and yet we have to use it daily as the standard for the information and issues we are forced to care about.
No one will tell you not to watch the media, or listen to what they say; no one is going to tell you to hate the media. There is however a very important thing we need to realize about the corporate media, everything they present has an agenda. It is imperative that a person that is subjected to information has to learn to have an objective view on what is being said.
